  2. I'm not from the US, but my sister has lived in Oregon for the past 4 years. I've only been to the Pacific west coast states, but loved it all. Tuolume meadows, and sequoia national parks were up there too!!

  3. I love Holmes County, Ohio! I think where I live is paradise, but if I had to pick a 2nd runner up it'd be Holmes County. We love to ride around looking at farms, horses, and shopping for antiques! Congrats on the milestones!

  5. I was married to a military man so I was lucky enough to live all over the USA. My favorite place (besides good ole' FL) was New Mexico. There's something about the sunset over the mountains... I miss the mountains. I also miss no humidity and 360 days of sunny skies with no rain. :) Great place to visit if you have the time. The balloons in October are Fabulous!

  8. I'm a military brat...so I have lived all over the eastern U.S. I have loved bits and pieces of everywhere I've lived. The leaves changing colors in Maine is beautiful. Montgomery Zoo is wonderful. But my all time favorite place to visit has always been, and will always be, Disney World in Orlando. Something about it is just magical.

    1. I have been to Maine many, many summers, but never been when the leaves were changing. Bar Harbor is one of my most favorite places. I haven't been to Disney since I graduated from high school. I can only imagine the changes they've made.

  9. Congratulations! My favorite vacation was definitely Hawaii. I went there for a wedding and stayed for a week. One of the highlights was snorkeling at Hanauma Bay. It was my first time doing it, and the bar was set high!

I saw your comment on Jennifer's blog about the book, The Julian Chapter. It is now in my Amazon cart. Thank you!

  10. Congratulations on your huge milestones! Wow! I'm proud of you. And surprised at some of the things I wasn't following, by the way. I'm a bad bestie! Don't worry... all fixed now.

My favorite vacation in the US was probably Destin. You've heard all about this already, so I won't bore you with the details, but boy, do I wish I could be at the beach every day!

  11. Congratulations!
My favorite vacation spot in the U.S. is the mountains of West Virginia. Since my father-in-law lives there, I visit often. While there I just enjoy the vista, the clean, fresh smelling air, and relax.

  12. Congratulations, Alison! 500 followers is amazing!!! My favorite vacation spot in the U.S. is probably the Grand Canyon. It was on my bucket list to the bottom and back to the top, so when I did it, it was such an accomplishment! Plus, it's beautiful!

  13. 500 is so awesome, you really rock! Best vacation ever was to Hawaii, close behind that would be San Francisco and our drives along the coast and to the redwood forest. Oh, the smells! While in Hawaii we had a blast in Honolulu, laid in the water for hours on the beach, it was magical! Have a wonderful trip home! Xoxo

    1. I do want to go to Hawaii one day. Driving on the coast in CA is wonderful. If people go to San Fran, they definitely need to go across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito and then up to Muir Woods to check out the redwoods.

  18. Congrats Alison on this huge accomplishment! That is so excited and well warranted! I haven't been to many places in the US, but I truly love it where I live... the Twin Cities area has so many options- Mall of America, Target Field, Lake Calhoun, so many excellent restaurants... love it! Although, if I'm going to follow the rules, I would have to say the Grand Canyon in Arizona... it's pretty breath-taking.

  25. Besides Disney (which totally ranks up there as I am a HUGE Disney fan), I would say visit the Painted Desert and Petrified forest in Arizona. And while you're there, go to the Grand Canyon. There is something so powerful about the age of those rocks and the beauty that has lasted all these many, many years that it is both mesmerizing and inspiring!

The Oregon Coast! I used to go every summer for a week. We'd camp out and go up and down the coast visiting different places. I wish it was a little warmer but once your body is numb the water isn't so bad. :)

The first time, my dad was on a business trip there and had meetings all week, so my sister and I got to spend almost the whole time on our own (as teenagers). It was a great bonding experience! The second time, I went with my high school marching band and got to have fun with my friends. We also performed on stage at the Hard Rock. I LOVE DISNEYWORLD!!!
