Happy Saturday, from Pismo Beach, California.
Still on the linky train...
I'm linkin' up for Saturday Snapshots with my bestie Miss Nelson
Day 10 Cali...We headed to Oakland to watch the Boston Red Sox play
the Oakland Athletics. Unfortunately, the Red Sox didn't win, but we still had
a fabulous time. I've been lucky enough to visit many baseball parks growin' up.
I think my count is up to ten.
We took a shuttle from the hotel to the park and back.
Less hassle for the most part...except people were rude pushin' to get on the shuttle.

Day 10 Cali continued...We had dinner at a restaurant named Francesco's
that has been in business for 45 years. Our waitress, Lisa, has been
workin' there for 39 years. Talk about dedication!
The food was scrumptious.
I of course had Chicken Piccata because I love capers!
We had to check out grapes there too.
Yep...they were drinkable.
Day 11 Cali...We went back to the ball park for some more baseball.
This time, the Red Sox WON!
We left early though to catch the shuttle to break down on the crowds.
We listened to the end of the game on ride home.
Day 12 Cali...I took my first trip to Trader Joe's.
O-M-G...I am in LOVE with the Sea Salt Butterscotch Caramels.
If you haven't tried these, get you some!
On the way to pick up dad from golf we watched the deer
walkin' around the course.
We also saw wild turkey babies,
but didn't get a chance to photograph them.
We ate dinner at a place called Baja Cantina in Carmel Valley.
Wonderful atmosphere.
I had Prawn Scampi and everyone else had ribs and garlic fries.
Day 13 Cali...We ran some errands...one bein' to Grocery Outlet
to pick up these Nonni's Salted Caramel Biscotti.
They are individually packed and only 100 calories.
If you see these...pick them up!
Mom made a fabulous pork loin, broccolini, and slaw for dinner.
YUM!
Day 14 Cali...Ran some more errands to my favorites...
Costco and Whole Foods.
I seriously wish we had these where I live.
We did some readin' and relaxin' at Tehama and then
met some friends for a delicious dinner
at Cafe Rustica in Carmel Valley in the Village.
Day 15 Cali...I didn't leave the house...not once.
Do I feel guilty? NOPE!
I spent time workin' on my Monday Made Its, readin' and
gettin' ready for THIS....

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX
Nextly, my bestie ACH sent this to me and I was thinkin' this would

My super funny friend Ali from Teaching Powered by Caffeine
is back with Lovin' It & Over It.
Relaxin'.
Enough said.
I needed this.
BIG TIME!
I'm on vacation, so I don't really have anything that I'm over right now,
except for maybe my belly flip-floppin' every time we
are on a curvy road. I'm not really a great back seat driver
as it is, but put me somewhere that is not flat and straight like Florida,
and I get a little queasy.
Nothin' a lil' air-condition' in the face can't fix.
Happy Saturday, friends!
It looks like your having lots of fun on your trip!

I went to Fenway last summer. It was amazing...though the Dodgers are my team. Keep up the fun summer.

Love all your picture collages. Especially the ones of Pismo. I didn't realize Trader Joe's was a west coast thing. It is one of my favorite stores. I haven't tried those sea salted butterscotch caramels though. I will definitely have to get some when I go next week. Enjoy the rest of your time at the beach!

You were right in my backyard when you went to the baseball game. We are two BART stops away from the stadium. I'm glad to hear that Francesco's was good. I pass by it every time we go to the airport, but we have yet to try it. It sounds like you are having an amazing and relaxing vacation. Enjoy!

Looks like you're having a great time! I love all of your pictures. Continue to enjoy your vacation, and I look forward to seeing more of your pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Monica! You had some pretty awesome pictures yourself this weekend! Loved the stadium ones for sure!
DeleteBoy, I feel your pain when it comes to getting car sick. Try riding all the windy roads to get up into the mountains! UGH!
ReplyDeleteI'm a caper lover too! The more the better, on my salad. And I can't believe you don't have a Trader Joe's in FLA! I live at TJ's....just the best! I've had those salted caramels, but as I've gotten older, I've become more sensitive to salt---everything tastes too salty to me now, so I took them to school and everyone else ate up the caramels.
And boy am I jealous of you being in my favorite place in the world---Pebble Beach/Carmel! Ohhh, what I wouldn't do to be livin' there now....I've told you before, that's where I plan to retire.
Keep enjoying your Cali vacay, and thanks for linkin' up, baby!! : )

Trader Joes just opened a store here in Orlando this week! Yay! I get a little car sick riding in the back seat when the roads are anything but straight! I haven't traveled anywhere exciting yet. Just enjoying my pool and relaxin!

I heart Pismo Beach! They have the best clam chowder on near the pier! That place used to be my old stomping ground. If you have time you should check out Avila Beach too (they have some neat outdoor hillside hot springs at the Sycamore Mineral Springs resort). I'm glad you're having so much fun out here in California!!

Trader Joes...Amazing! Our closest one is 45 minutes away, but we drive and stock up! I will have to look for those candies!

I love all of your pictures! Trader Joes is actually within walking distance from my house, so I'm quite a regular there. The parking is not that great, so I actually prefer to walk. That way, I can justify getting a treat like those fabulous salted caramel biscotti!

Fit to be Fourth
You have done a great job of capturing your vacation. Love the picture diary. I want to try one of those biscottis. They sound delicious.
ReplyDeleteOk - I have been reading blogs on my phone so I totally missed your blog transformation - love the background paper!! Love the pics - glad you are having a great time. I am off on summer holidays finally so when you leave Cali be sure to swing by and your way home : )
ReplyDeleteOkay, Trader Joe's is on my to-do list the next time I visit my sister. I say I'm going every time and then I make excuses, but those caramels look amazing! I'm loving all the pics from Cali! It looks like you are having such a relaxing time. In my opinion summer hasn't officially started until I can spend entire days at home and do nothing - those are the best!

]A Tall Drink of Water
My cousin's daughter, when she was like 2 or 3, used to call capers frog balls. No one knew why. But she'd always ask, "Mo' fwog bawls, Mama?" It was so stinking adorable! It looks like you're having a great time in Cali, and I don't think you should feel an ounce of guilt on the days you don't leave the house. That's the whole point of a vacation... do whatever the hell you want! xoxo
ReplyDeleteYour trip looks like a blast. Thank you for linking up... so many fun places and things to try if I make it out that way! :)
