The Hour of Code is here...the wait is over...

I can no longer say, "The Hour of Code is comin'," because it is FINALLY HERE!
Have no idea what I'm talkin' about?
Read here to find out about Hour of Code
and here from my buddy, Matt, at Digital: Divide and Conquer.
You don't want to miss this and neither do your students!
I promise.
This ends on Sunday, December 15th.
Here are some pictures of my students participatin' in the
Hour of Code today.

We took advantage of the Technology Lab.

Everyone was so into it and moved at their own pace.

This might possibly be the quietest they have been all year.

Here is an up close shot of the Angry Bird session.

I couldn't figure out why this sweet lil' rockstar kept turnin' around
and shakin' his hands.  He was usin' strategies to help him move the bird.
He would close his eyes, move his hands, and visualize
which direction to go.

I couldn't have been happier when most of them asked
if they could continue their session when they got home.
My response, "ABSOLUTELY!"

It's not too late for your class to participate.
Sign up after readin' this!

Happy codin'!

  2. Wow! That is absolutely awesome. I showed my class a video about code writing, they were really into it. I bet you inspired some future computer technicians.

    1. Thanks, Laura! My students have so been looking forward to this. The first thing they asked me this morning was if we were going to be doing "The Hour of Code" before even telling me "hello".

  4. Yay! I'm giving it a go tomorrow! Our computer lab was already booked, so I'm going to try it in the classroom. I only have 3 computers, so it'll probably take several days! But I'm so excited!
