Today I'm linkin' up with my sweet as candy buddy, Joanne, from Head Over Heels for Teaching
for Spark Student Motivation Saturdays.
I think Christmas as a whole is a motivator for students, but I had to pick one thing
that sparked a little bit more motivation in my rockstars.
On Tuesday, I talked about what I am doing in my class to maintain the Christmas crazies.
Read about that here.
One of the things that my students earned this week was stickers
(still blamin' Joanne for my new obsession to the the Dollar Tree)
I can't go in there without seein' a billion things that I could be usin' in my classroom.
She motivated me to see things in a new light and to make them educational and fun!
Christmas sticker stories...fast and easy and a motivatin' reward!
Each student was able to choose two Christmas stickers to incorporate into an illustration
and then write about their illustration.
Below are just a few of the many scenes that were created.
Another $1 success.
Did you have a chance to check out Wednesday's post about the motivatin' WONDERful technology project we did in our class? Check that out here.
Tomorrow is my day to catch up on blogs. I'm currently Christmas craftin'.
You can find me covered in sequins and glitter if you need me.
More on that on Tuesday. Be sure to check back then and head over to Joanne's blog
to read about what everyone else is usin' to motivate their students!

As educators, we remember and honor our fallen colleagues and their students from Sandy Hook School. We honor them each day in our classrooms in which we continue their dream of teaching our children. We honor their memory with our service. Join with teachers everywhere in committing random acts of kindness to show our love for Sandy Hook. #love4SH

That is such a great idea! So simple yet endless possibilities! Have fun with your crafts!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Laura. There's always time to take a break and check blogs. Lol!
DeleteThis idea is so perfect for me to use this week! We just started fictional narrative writing...how did you know?? I haven't been to Dollar Tree for almost a week-they probably gave away my parking spot! :) I'll have to go tomorrow to get those stickers and I'll find another idea for us while I'm there! Thanks for sharing and linking up sweet friend!

ReplyDeleteGlitter!?! Oh no, no! No glitter here. It's the herpes of crafting... you can never get rid of it!
