Finally...it's baaaaaaaack...Monday Made It with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics.
I'm happy, happy, happy!
Thank you, Tara!
I have to warn you though...this is not school related...sorry!
So...I heart Pinterest.
Who doesn't?
I want to make EVERYTHING I see on there.
About a year ago, I made a pinspired earring holder that I saw on Pinterest
and at a friend's house.
I needed some major organization for my my bling.
I love it so much and it was easy to make with some screen and
a picture frame that I found on clearance at T.J. Maxx.
This definitely keeps my earrings organized...
if I actually put them away like I'm supposed to.
I already had a jewelry tree for my necklaces
that Jerm ordered off of Costco for me a few years ago.
There is a cute little space for rings, but there is a problem...
I have too MANY rings for this space and there is just too much goin' on here
with the necklaces and bracelets.
I've had to add more little trays to store stuff.
Messy!
So, I went out and bought one of these.
This works okay, but if I want to see the rings on the back,
I have to take it down from where
it is hangin' and flip it around.
Then...sometimes rings fall out of the pouches.
Not fun.
I needed somewhere else to store my rings and to be able to see them immediately
without them fallin' all over the place.
I was standin' in Walmart waitin' for my Nitty to pick out yarn, and
it jumped out at me....this wooden rack thing with little sticks standin' up straight.
If you sew...you know what it is.
For me...I had no clue, but I thought it looked cool and might work for me.
Enter the Thread Rack...the place where you stick spools of thread.
Those of you that know me...know this will never happen.
Instead, I'm goin' to store my finger jewels here.
The bigger the ring...the better.
I like bling rings.
(Jerm contributed to my "made it" by paintin' it black for me)
I made it a ring holder by addin' my rings.
Woo hoo...I'm back in business!
There are 60 spots and they aren't all full...you know what that means...
I need to go shoppin'!
This makes me even happier, happier, happier.
I seriously thought I was pure GENIUS for thinkin' of this...
UNTIL
I went to Pinterest and found that someone had already made one before me.
GASP!
Out of all of my Pinterest browsin'...how had I never stumbled on it before?
Sad face.
Maybe next time I'll invent somethin' phenomenal that nobody else has thought of before.
You could always follow me on Pinterest...
just in case that genuis moment happens...
I'm sure you wouldn't want to miss it.
I also made somethin' to use with my rockstars to continue our practice of multiplyin' decimals.
Check out how I use these in my classroom here.

That is a great idea for a ring holder! I never saw that on Pinterest either!! Do I spy an owl ring wearing glasses?? If so, I'm in LOVE!
ReplyDeleteYou ARE pure genius! That spool holder is perfect for your rings. I have a bunch of rings in a box that I'm forever thumbing through {the blingy-er the better!}. That spool holder would be great. That would take up some serious real estate on my dresser, though. I wonder if there are smaller ones?
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love that you call your grandma "Nitty." Must be a southern thing.....

Brilliant idea with the ring holder! Black makes it look so classy! It's so fun when you see something at a store and your mind just starts racing with all the things you could do with it!

I love using black on everything to make all the other colors pop. Thanks, Kate!
DeleteI love the black, too! It looks great! And it will be fun to shop for more items to fill it!

I like that! You could put some bracelets in the gaps while you're busy shopping for more bling!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. I do have some bracelets that work on there! Thanks, Daliene
DeleteI think the ring holder is genius! Just because someone else ALSO happens to be a genius, it doesn't take away from your status. Own it! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm totally giving you credit for this idea! Love it! Being able to see all your rings at once is awesome!

Keep Calm and Hoot On
Too cute! Like you, I am a jewelry-aholic. I ended up getting a large jewelry chest from Pier One a couple of years ago and love it. I keep all my necklaces in snack Ziploc baggies. If there are earrings that go with the necklace, I put them in the baggie too. It seems to work, but my rings are just in a drawer.

I hadn't thought about doing that! Great idea!
DeleteThat ring holder is awesome and wow, I love your collection of rings! That Valentine's math themed pack is so cute too, seriously love the colors and papers you selected!
ReplyDeleteLove your ring holder! What a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteYour decimal multiplication pack looks awesome also. I am toying with a different math set up for the second half of the year and these may fit the bill. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much for stopping by and the sweet compliment!
DeleteYou are so smart! I'm not a "ring girl" (well except for my one awesome one now hee hee) but this is a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteJivey
Seriously, your not the first person to do this? Because it IS genius! And I have never seen it on Pinterest! I think maybe they copied you...maybe they saw you at Walmart. LOL!! It looks great! I don't have enough rings for something like that. But I made a similar earring thing...and I love it!
ReplyDeleteA Tall Drink of Water
I am totally making one of those! I thought I had a lot of rings but I think you have me beat. You're rings are gorgeous! I love my bling and see some I could totally wear...lol!
