Tried it Tuesday...

I had so much fun linkin' up yesterday for "Monday Made It" with 4th Grade Frolics that I thought today I would link up for "Tried it Tuesday" with Fourth Grade Flipper...for my very first time...ever!

While lookin' through all of the awesome ideas that were featured on "Monday Made It", I ran across this post by Amanda at  A Very Curious Class.  I loved the picture frame idea so much and I hopped in the car and sped hurried off to Michael's in search of a picture frame.

SCORE...I read one of my favorite words..."CLEARANCE"!
I quickly snatched up the larger frame.
(There were about three styles to choose from)

Here is the frame in the front seat of the car.  Pretty nice size, I think.
Don't worry, I buckled it in before I pulled out of the parkin' lot!
I always abide by this law: Click it or ticket!

The tag says 11 in. x 14 in.

I picked up some "licorice" metallic acrylic paint and a sponge brush.

I used a 40% off coupon that I had texted to my phone from Michaels.com before I left the house (I love technology!).  For all three items it cost a little over $3.00.  When I got home, I immediately threw down some newspaper and painted the front of the frame in less than 10 minutes.

*Note to self: Next time use some common sense and take off your jewelry before paintin' with black paint.*

Finished Product:
You will have to excuse the crookedness and quality of this pic.  Not only was it midnight when it was taken, but my 92 year old grandmother, Nitty, and I were laughin' so hard that we couldn't get a straight picture.  Every time she hit the button on the phone, she would jiggle the phone; each picture ended up blurry!  These are the memories that make me smile though, so I think it's perfect for what I was tryin' to go for.

I'm sure I will use this to snap pics of my students at the beginnin' of the year.  I have them dress up as rockstars to put on "Ms. Rose's Wall of Fame".  As pictured, they will hold the frame in front of their face and I will snap the pic! Ta-da!
